Anger Management

Hypnotherapy and NLP can offer you the life changing tools to help you eradicate your anger quickly and effectively.

Everyone has at some stage in their lives experienced anger, whether in its mildest form of frustration or full on emotional outburst.

Anger in itself isn’t always a negative emotion. In the right context, you will be very justified in feeling angry. That being said, sometimes the emotion of anger can get out of control and come out when it isn’t warranted or justified. This can be for a number of reasons.

  • It may be because you haven’t enforced one of your boundaries
  • You may have allowed someone to over step the mark
  • Or that there is an external trigger for your outburst like a certain person’s behaviour
  • It could be that you have run anger so well for so long, that you have hard wired yourself to go there at a drop of a hat, completely unreasonably and illogically.

For many, they will manage their anger by reacting in a spontaneous and powerful way – maybe by asserting physical aggression, verbal aggression or general negative behaviour to others around them.

As well as the behavioural effects and the consequences on others around you, there is also an even bigger reason to be able to manage  your anger and get it under control, and that is for your physical well being. These are just some of the physical manifestations that anger can induce.

  • During an outburst of anger, stress hormones (adrenalin and noradrenaline) are released. These chemicals help maintain the heart rate, blood pressure and regulate the pancreas which controls the sugar balance in our blood.
  • Because of our anger, the usual (average) heart rate of 80 climbs up to 180 beats per minute.
  • An average blood pressure of 120 over 80 suddenly soars to 220 over 130, sometimes even higher.
  • Breathing becomes more rapid to get more oxygen into the body.
  • The energy burst causes a sugar deficiency, so that an angry person may ‘shake from anger.’
  • Muscles that are needed for fight or flight become very tight, causing an uptight and tense feeling in your body.
  • As the body prepares for survival, it safeguards itself against injury and bleeding. An angry person’s body releases chemicals to coagulate (clot) the blood in case it is wounded in battle, creating a situation that is potentially dangerous. Although there is no physical injury, the clot is formed, which can travel through the blood vessels to the brain or heart, therefore an angry person faces a higher risk of heart attack or stroke.

How NLP and Hypnotherapy can help eliminate unwanted anger

N.L.P techniques can help to deal with any triggers so that you don’t run your anger in those situations anymore. There are also NLP techniques that can help with unresolved issues from the past where there have been boundary violations.

Anger outbursts are simply a learned behaviour that has become hard wired within your neurology. NLP and hypnotherapy is very effective in changing any ingrained unwanted responses at an unconscious level, making the transition to a better way of reacting seemless and easy.

Hypnotherapy can be very effective in the treatment of anger because it creates deep, deep relaxation which causes you to calm down physically and mentally. Many sufferers of anger have spent much of their time being very tense and uptight in their bodies. Therefore the deep physical relaxation experienced during hypnotherapy can often come as a much welcomed relief.

The positive suggestions in hypnotherapy combined with NLP techniques will disrupt old neural connections in the brain and create new connection for reacting differently in the future, making the transition to a better way of being smooth and easy for you.

Hypnotherapy and NLP combined together produce amazing and virtually instant results for extremes of emotion. Click here to find out more about hypnotherapy, what it is and how it works. I will also dispel some of the myths associated with hypnotherapy and Stage Hypnosis.
